All throughout high school I was obsessed with obtaining perfect, clear skin. I tried almost everything and whenever I found something new, I’d start searching for the next thing after only a couple of uses. Now I’ve learnt that a lot of it has to do with genetics and what you put into your body. However, that doesn’t mean you should make any less effort with what you do on the outside. I like to do a mini-facial every week using homemade products mainly because I enjoy experimenting, it’s not as pricy and you’re less likely to damage your skin as you avoid the harsher elements in some face care products.
DIY Charcoal Mask and Orange Face Scrub
For the scrub:
1 Teaspoons of sugar
4-6 drops of orange
Method: Throw it all into a small container and combine. Because it’s a scrub, you don’t want the sugar to dissolve too much so a few drops of the orange will do.
For the mask:
2 activated charcoal capsules
1 Tablespoons Bentonite Clay Powder
1 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera Jelly
6 drops of tea tree oil
Method: This one is very simple; you just put it all into a container and mix. Add water based on what consistency you would like. I like mine a little creamy.
And that’s it! For the best results, make sure you’ve cleansed and steamed your face to open up your pores.
